Boom! Week 8 is here, and I'm told the excitement around The League is through the roof. Eight matchups are on the board, and if you want to know where your team stands before kickoff, start with your lineup and get your starters locked in.
The matchup of the week, in my opinion, is Gridiron Geeks (8-2) against Computer Jocks (5-5). Gridiron Geeks projects at 125.2 and Computer Jocks at 125.4, so this is a coin flip on paper. League sources tell me Ja'Marr Chase (15.3) and Malik Nabers (16.6) are going to decide whether this one is a statement or a stumble. Money is nice, but championships are better, and Gridiron Geeks is sitting on a serious playoff push.
Pacific Pigskins (9-1) enter as the biggest favorite on the slate, projecting 143.8 points against Midwestside Connection's 103.7. Jared Goff at 34.0 is the single biggest projection of the weekend, and I'm making a bold prediction: Pacific Pigskins win this one going away. Midwestside Connection has lost two straight, and they need a serious answer, not a hope and a prayer. Track every snap on the live scoreboard and you will see it develop in real time.
Dark Magicians of Chaos are on a three-game losing streak, and I'm told the pressure in that locker room is real. They project at 137.1 against The Mariachi Ninjas at 101.2, but Mariachi Ninjas have been stuck at 4-6 just like them. Dark Magicians need Jayden Daniels and Dak Prescott to show up, because another loss could sink their season. Fire Ready Aim is in the same boat on a three-game skid, facing Cowboy Up in a 122.4 to 122.0 battle of two 5-5 teams that cannot afford to blink.
Bring The Pain is on a five-game losing streak, and that is the ugliest storyline of the weekend. They host Wascawy Wabbits, who project at 145.1 to Bring The Pain's 117.6, and I don't see a path to victory unless Jahmyr Gibbs goes supernova. Maverick, at 0-10 and riding a ten-game losing streak, draws Running down the Dream, who project at 129.5 against Maverick's 121.4. Make sure you are getting real-time alerts with push notifications so you don't miss a single late swing.
Before you head into the weekend, check the schedule difficulty with the Gauntlet rankings to see who has had it toughest. Then go back to your lineup one more time, because Week 8 is where seasons get decided. Boom, let's go!
