Pretty surprised that Graham didn't get a single bid on him...

Gotta remember though it takes both a 1st and a 2nd to bid on a franchise and anyone with a high pick probably won't bother. Could be more guys like this that "slip thru" as we get more players tagged each year.

Also it's said to be a pretty deep rookie draft this year and thus that may make people with a top 10 pick think twice about bidding on a franchise player. :dunno: I have 1.13 and I wasn't going to bid on a franchise player at all, rather have the pick.

Then again, what do I know, I've only won one playoff game in how many years? :wall: :goteam:

Dunno if we'll see more guys slip thru with a Franchise tag... Graham and Gronk are a unique situation that they've been so ridiculously cheap to roster during their rookie contracts and the franchise amount for TEs was also really cheap. My guess is that we'll probably still see more players just get tagged once and then dropped the next season with the Franchise tag always costing as much as it has. Tagging (or bidding on) Graham next year though is still way cheaper than he'd cost if he were to hit the open market.

I was actually hoping that someone was going to bid on Graham so I could let him go and bid on Gronk... LOL!

Happily roster Graham for under $5m :)

That didn't make sense after re-reading it.. LOL
I don't see a huge difference changing w/ the franchised players. They don't typically get bid on to begin with.. But Graham and Gronk are SOO cheap compared to other players and what they offer. Even Gronk for 3 years at $7m is a great contract. For the 16th and 17th pick? I'd give that up no problem for a chance at rostering Gronk for that contract.

Can we propose a new rule where we all get to bid on Jimmy Graham? Pretty sure the majority of us would vote "yes" on that. :D
