Here's my offer: $1,000,000 and a 5-year contract. I know you've been turning down 3rd-round trade offers because you wanted either a cheap deal on the Seahawks or a 2nd-round pick. This offer gives you a choice between a good team at a fair price and a crappy salary cap situation or a 2nd-round pick and a crappy salary cap situation. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Despite what the timestamp says, I'd like it noted that I posted the above offer at 11:54pm PST on 2/28.

Emailed the commish at 11:58 to get a more reliable timestamp on this offer.

Was the deadline 12PST or EST?
Either way, was wondering if anyone was gonna try and sign anyone away!

Heck, you could have bid on my Bears for that price.

Historically we've always used PST as the official time for the league, the problem is that when you use that time on the MFL calendar it shows up on the following day for anyone not living in the pacific time zone. So we've moved a lot of the time on the MFL calendars to say 8:45 PT/ 11:45 ET. I'm assuming the time stamp on the forum isn't taking Daylight savings time into account maybe I can fix that on the back end.

Wow. Defenses are a dime a dozen over 5 years. I'd have taken the 2nd rounder. That's what I was hoping with tagging the Bears.

I can see the Seahawks being a dominant D for the next few years.. And maybe Vit's a big Seahawks homer?
As displayed from this past season with your Bears D, it can be a huge leg up if you've got a DST scoring 10-20pts a week...
It was a pretty high 2nd though... I probably would've had a hard time deciding what to do.

Looking at Vit's cap situation, I expected him to match. If he takes the pick, that's $425k against his cap, so he'd have to get a defense for $575k or less in order to not hurt his cap space more than this contract does. A rookie 2nd-rounder and a cheap defense probably won't have as much value this season as the Seahawks D assuming they keep their momentum going, so in that sense the $1m price tag makes sense this year. Of course, Vit is in my division, so I'm not just going to offer him a reasonable contract with no downside, which is why I cranked up the contract length to 5 years.

While I like your strategy of trying to fk over a divsion-mate, you actually probably saved him money in the long run if Seattle is good (10% increase per year instead of the 20% of tagging).
I think Seattle could be very good the next few years too.

2013 - $857,124
2014 - $1,028,549
2015 - $1,234,259
2016 - $1,481,111
2013 - $1,000,000
2014 - $1,100,000
2015 - $1,210,000
2016 - $1,331,000
Won't start saving money until 2015 and by that price it's usually time to consider dumping them or not since that's quite a bit of $$ to have in a single defence. If anything, Nate's guaranteed that Vit will have over $1m tied into a defence for quite a long time

If he's expecting him to match though you have to count from 1 mill on both in 2013.
IMO he really did him a favor... wish someone would've hooked me up like that for the Houston D
I'm starting to catch that rookie fever though so I might've taken the pick if it was in the top half of the 2nd.

You tagged the HOU D with a 1st round tender... No way anyone's doing that!

ah, yea... It didn't look like that deal was gonna get that deal done so I went the cheaper route (by almost nothing) on K
I doubt there would've been an offer anyway.

No, that was definite douche move on Nate's part. I know he enjoys messing with me (and this was done on so many levels). You know of my love for the Seahawks and I'm like a dog with bone when it comes to pieces that I like. Plus, to do it in the 11th hour so I don't retaliate is the height of douche baggery ...a well-played sucker punch on your part sir!

I liked the move and I would of done to Nate if I knew in time to get him back.
I’m not sure why he continues to try to provoke me. Given the fact every time he tries to do this I’ve made him pay for it. I'm going to enjoy owning your ass this year Nate!
