Several teams with large bankrolls and only a couple roster spots to fill. Is it going to get ugly this year?

I'll take Tom Brady for 20 million. And still have millions left over. Muhhaaaaaahhhhaaaa.

Pretty much. I may work from home in the afternoon. Why not?

Stunning turn of events yesterday with LVE pushing HARD and taking Brady away from Pigskins...
Didn't expect that at all... I thought I'd have been the only one going after Brady outside of Pigskins
Calm before the storm now?

It was a lot less stunning for me. It would have been more stunning if no one made a run at him.

Gotta question LVE's logic on that one. Are they really in a position to compete for a title this year or would he have been better served looking to acquire some cheapo contracts to bolster his roster for a run next year?

I am taking a gamble with a slightly different approach... we'll see how things pan out!
By the way:
LBer... just focus on finally winning a title first! You've been knocking at the door, but you just can't seem to close the deal!
Instead of using your energy to "question" my motives... maybe use it for worrying about what your doing.

The gloves have come off between LVE and LBer!

Enjoy that 1.1 pick buddy. Be sure to choose wisely. A whiff there will set you back a few more years.
For the record, I'd happily forgo ever winning a title in this league if I'd forever finish with a silver or bronze. Winning once is luck... finishing in the top 3 year after year after year after year is skillz.

I'd be happy to just make the playoffs.

By who's standard? Is that what you tell yourself to justify not winning it?
So your the Marty Schottenheimer of The League huh???
Bottom line is: We play to Win The Game!
That's all that matters.... is a title, everything else is forgotten. I don't remember who came in 2nd or 3rd or 4th or 5th... its about the champion and who wins it. And that, my friend, is something that has eluded you your whole career my young padawan!

Nah more like the Buffalo Bills, Herm.
But you're right, we play to win... money
Noone remembers who won the titles either (unless they remind them in their forum sig *ahem*). There is no glory... as the saying goes "No one cares about your fantasy team".

TC bailed me out. CJ would have looked good on my team but now I can sign my rookies.

After winning the bid on Ingram, I'm all tapped out...
Sorry to Executioners, I couldn't let Ingram go yesterday morning for $2.3m... I don't mind having 2011s 1.1 on my team for $3.25. Hopefully the Saints can figure out their backfield and move Ivory to another team to benefit me as well
Looking forward to seeing 2012 Central Division Champ all season long when the divisions are listed on the home screen

Scott, I'm glad you didn't get CJ... I'd prefer him not in our division

I'd have to say that the best deals in FA went to Poker (Jennings @ $2.6m, Gates @ $1.525m), Degenerates (Manning @ $2.25m), and Pigskins (Vick @ $1.275m)
I wonder if those teams I was trying to trade Keller's FA rights to are regretting not accepting my trade offers... He went for more then 2.5x the tagging cost! $5m for Keller and $3.5m for Delanie Walker.. Oof! Puts a dent in the spending plans. Gonzo is going for what I think Gronk/Graham/Hernandez will end up going for if they ever hit the open market.
I'm really happy with how FA worked out for me this time around. Outside of Ingram, I don't think I really overpaid for anything. Glad to have "snuck" Casey thru, just needs to be converted to a TE in MFL now... If LBer wasn't bidding him up I may have got him for the minimum! Feel WAY better about my QB situation this year compared to last (Cutler & Cassel). Ingram was a long term pickup, not expecting huge things from him this season, but who knows, he could breakout this season (not holding my breath though). Davis just needs to sign somewhere, but he's a high quality TE when he's on the field... A tad worried about his injury, but I think he'll be fine for the length of his contract.
Also having Goodson sign with the NYJ and Myers signing with the NYG... I don't think either of those two could have gone to better situations! The icing on the cake would've been NO letting Ivory walk as opposed to the 2nd round RFA tender, but I wasn't THAT lucky.
Can't wait for the season to start, defending my division crown, and hopefully making a long playoff run
